Once again, McBrayer has been ranked among the nation’s top law firms by Best Lawyers®, achieving recognition in their 2025 edition of Best Law Firms®. The firm continues to cement this status through continual growth, adding three new attorneys to its now largest-ever roster.

For Best Law Firms, McBrayer’s Lexington office received Metropolitan Tier 1 ranking in Commercial Litigation, Criminal Defense: White Collar, Health Care Law, Land Use and Zoning Law, Litigation – Insurance, Litigation - Labor and Employment, Litigation – Real Estate, Litigation – Trusts and Estates, and Real Estate Law. The Louisville office was recognized at the Metropolitan Tier 1 level for Commercial Litigation, Education Law, Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law, Employment Law - Individuals, and Trademark Law.

On the Metropolitan Tier 2 level, the Lexington office was recognized for Civil Rights Law, Construction Law, Corporate Law, Employment Law – Management, Energy Regulatory Law, Insurance Law, International Mergers and Acquisitions, Personal Injury Litigation - Plaintiffs, and Utilities Law. Emily D. Penn joins the firm in its Lexington office as an Associate attorney. She will practice in the firm’s litigation group. Penn is a 2022 graduate of the University of Kentucky Rosenberg College of Law and a 2019 graduate of Centre College, where she received her bachelor's degree in economics and finance. Before joining McBrayer, she clerked for two years for Federal Magistrate Judge H. Brent Brennenstuhl in Bowling Green, KY.

Kara N. Legg recently joined our Lexington office as an Associate Attorney. She will be practicing in the firm's regulatory and economic development group. Legg came to McBrayer as a 2023 Summer Associate and has clerked with the firm ever since. Legg is a 2024 graduate of the University of Kentucky Rosenberg College of Law and a 2020 graduate of Marshall University, where she received her bachelor's degree in political science.

Miles Lee, III, has recently joined the firm's Louisville office as an Associate Attorney. He will be practicing in the estate planning group. A 2021 graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law and a 2018 alumnus of the University of Kentucky, he holds a bachelor's degree in accounting. Before joining McBrayer, Lee was an attorney for Clayton R. Hume, PLLC.
