Overview
For nearly 40 years, McBrayer attorneys have proudly represented Kentucky school boards, board members, administrators, teachers, and staff. In this time, they have represented over 30 school districts, from some of Kentucky’s smallest, independent districts, to its largest. They have also defended a number of colleges and Universities, and they also work with several insurance companies that specialize in the defense of school law claims.
Their work involves a wide range of complex legal matters, including athletic injuries, Title IX claims, Special Education matters, employment claims and personal injury claims. Our attorneys have successfully defended school districts and employees in several landmark state and federal appellate decisions in areas such as constitutional law, the Open Records Act, employment, insurance coverage, Title IX, and personal injury defense.
In addition to state and federal court litigation, our attorneys have handled many administrative matters, including Special Education Due Process hearings and teacher and administrative terminations and demotions. They have also defended school districts in state and federal investigations involving the Office of Civil Rights and other agencies.
If your district has a difficult legal question or finds itself involved in one of these types of matters, please contact one of McBrayer’s education attorneys today.
