In July, McBrayer Member Mitchel Denham was appointed by Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg to serve as a member of the Louisville Economic Development Alliance (LEDA). LEDA, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization, is tasked with leading business expansion, retention, and attraction initiatives. Its objectives include the development of a new citywide brand, and the facilitation of partnerships focused on talent development, small business and entrepreneur development, finance, and bonding, as well as policy analysis, research, and advocacy.

LEDA collaborates with the Kentucky state government to attract businesses to Louisville and to create incentives for business expansion in Louisville/Jefferson County. The organization is committed to working with all relevant stakeholders, including Greater Louisville, Inc., to ensure appropriate communication of leads related to business expansion to the relevant local government authorities. Louisville is a highly desirable location for both burgeoning talent and new businesses. As per Site Selection Magazine, it has been recognized as the No. 6 metro area for Economic Development. Forbes has identified it as one of the top 10 Best Cities to Move to. Moreover, Travel + Leisure has ranked Louisville as the No. 4 Most Beautiful and Affordable Place to Live, distinguishing it as one of America’s Top 10 Best Foodie Cities. Notably, Louisville obtained a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index. Additionally, Axios acknowledged Louisville as one of America’s Top Emerging Innovative Hotspots.
