Overview
After nearly fifty years practicing law, with many of those spent as an estate planning attorney, Alan Linker knows what his clients want—and how to achieve it. He possesses extensive experience in managing wealth transfer arrangements, gifts, and legacies that help his clients meet their goals. In his Louisville, Kentucky–based practice, Alan primarily works with the estate plans of high-net-worth individuals, corporate executives, and their families. He works to find practical solutions for each of his clients that prioritize their individual needs and goals for the disposition of their assets in both life and at death, and he is skilled at implementing various estate planning strategies to minimize or eliminate transfer tax burdens for his clients and their loved ones. Alan’s clients can rely on him to be responsive, efficient, and informative as they work with him to craft an individually tailored plan.
Alan’s practice also extends to business and corporate law, an area in which he handles mergers and acquisitions and structures businesses and business transactions, including stockholder and member agreements. His business law knowledge and experience complement his estate planning practice, allowing him to account for the business needs of his corporate estate planning clients. Services Alan routinely provides for clients include reviewing assets and liabilities, addressing family dynamics, determining titles to property, examining gift tax returns and prior deeds, calculating estate and gift tax obligations, and preparing wills, various trust agreements, and all ancillary documents. Alan works closely with accountants, insurance agents, and financial advisors to ensure optimal planning and implementation for his clients.
Outside of his practice, Alan has served as the Founding Commissioner of the City of Hurstbourne, Kentucky, sits on the Board of Directors for the Argent Trust Company, and has been the Regional Director of the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Board of the Anti-Defamation League. Alan has appreciated the opportunity to build relationships with members of the community through his time served in these various roles.
