McBrayer starts 2021 strong, with seven new attorneys joining our Lexington and Louisville offices:
Alexandria Beto joins us as an Associate from Bowles Rice LLP in Morgantown, West Virginia. She practices a wide variety of matters in corporate and business law. She is a 2018 graduate of the Emory University School of Law and a 2015 graduate of West Virginia University, and she is licensed in West Virginia, Washington, D.C. and North Carolina. She has served as a West Virginia Legal Aid Volunteer for Domestic Violence Protective Order Hearings.
Addison Lowry joins us as an Associate from the Louisville Metro Public Defender’s office. Her practice area is general litigation with a focus on insurance defense. She is a 2020 graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law and a 2017 graduate of the University of Kentucky, and she’s licensed in Kentucky. Addison worked as a runner at McBrayer five years ago, so we’re happy to see her return as an attorney.
Cary Howard joins us as General Counsel and Ethics Counsel. He comes to us from Kinkead & Stilz with a background in legal ethics and professional responsibility, as well as estate planning and administration, business law and commercial real estate. Besides his role as General Counsel, he will be advising the firm on legal ethics, professional responsibility and compliance issues. Cary is a 2003 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law and a 2000 graduate of the University of Kentucky. He is a member of the LFUCG Ethics Commission and his family is very active in Christ Church in Lexington.
Ed Monarch joins us as a Member, after practicing as a trial lawyer for twenty-seven years. His main focus has been defending healthcare providers and healthcare businesses. He is a 1993 graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law and a 1988 graduate of the University of Kentucky, and he is licensed in Kentucky and Indiana. He enjoys skiing, hiking and horseback riding.
Louis Winner joins us as a Member from his firm of Clay Daniel Winner, bringing a robust family law practice to our Louisville office. He also litigates entertainment law issues. He is a 2000 graduate of the Yeshiva University Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a 1997 graduate of Indiana University. In addition to Kentucky, Louis is also licensed in Texas and New York. He’s actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America and Operation Brightside, and he is a dedicated outdoors enthusiast who enjoys mountain climbing, hiking and extreme sports.
Sidney Vieck joins us as an Associate from Clay Daniel Winner and practices in the area of family law and reproductive rights. She is a 2018 graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law and a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana. She is licensed in both Kentucky and Indiana. Sidney is currently a member of Maryhurst’s Associate Board, a nonprofit organization in Louisville dedicated to serving and providing a home to endangered children.

These 2021 additions join the 2020 newcomers Bruce Paul, Scott Schuette, Cassidy Sorrells, David Cecil, Fred Rodgers, Keeana Boarman and Sean Mumaw, with a total of 14 attorneys joining McBrayer within the last twelve months.
