McBrayer Louisville Member Jack Wheat was interviewed for and featured in the documentary Billion Dollar Babies: The True Story of the Cabbage Patch Kids, which premiered earlier this June at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.
As a law student and young lawyer in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Mr. Wheat provided legal assistance and representation to Martha Nelson Thomas, the Kentucky artist who created the soft sculpture "Doll Babies" that preceded Cabbage Patch Kids, in an intellectual property suit regarding the provenance of the popular toys.
You can learn more about the film and purchase it for viewing on the Tribeca Film Festival website.
